Aaron Charles Rodgers (December 2, 1983-) is an NFL quarterback who has spent his entire professional career with the Green Bay Packers (2005-present), taking the team to a win in Super Bowl in XLV. Rodgers showed extraordinary talent on the field, even as a member of the Pleasant Valley High School football team in California, where he starting for two years at quarterback and garnering 4,421 passing yards.
He set single-game records of six touchdowns and 440 all-purpose yards, and in 2001 set a single-season yardage record (2,466). At the University of California, Berkeley, he set several California Golden Bears records. In 2003, he tied the school season record for 300-yard games (5) and set a school record for the lowest percentage of passes intercepted (1.43%).
The following season, Rodgers set a Cal single game record for passing completion percentage (85.3%) and also holds the Cal career record for lowest percentage of passes intercepted (1.95%). The Packers selected Rodgers in the 1stround (24th overall) as a back-up QB to Brett Favre for his first three seasons on the team. Following Favre’s long-anticipated retirement, Aaron stepped into the starting QB role for the 2008 season and quickly proved to be one of the best in the league. He passed for 4,038 yards in his first season as a starter and threw for 28 touchdowns with only 13 interceptions (a career high).
